Summary:
As our first dedicated Marketing Manager, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Business Development, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s brand, driving lead generation, and telling the story of how our custom ingredient solutions create value for our customers. This role is ideal for someone with B2B food industry experience, who thrives in both strategy and execution, and who can bring clarity and energy to a technically complex offering. This is a full-time, at-will, salaried exempt position.
Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Department Development
- Define and position the company brand within the B2B food supply chain ecosystem.
- Build and implement a comprehensive demand generation marketing plan focused on growth within the industrial food ingredient space, which also includes custom ingredient formulation.
- Establish marketing operations, processes, KPIs, and reporting systems from scratch.
- Utilize Greenwood’s CRM in planning, managing, and evaluating the performance of campaigns across different channels (digital, social media, email, print, trade shows).
- Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities.
- Identify and prioritize target segments (bakery, beverage, confections, dairy, dressing, sauces, condiments, marinades, nutraceuticals).
Content & Communications
- Develop and manage messaging that communicates technical benefits (clean label, shelf-life extension, flavor masking) in a way that resonates with R&D, procurement, and innovation teams across all channels including email, website, printed collateral, and social media.
- Develop and manage B2B marketing materials including presentations, brochures and sales enablement tools (e.g., product lists, sell sheets, and technical content).
- Lead content creation efforts such as newsletters, blog posts, social media campaigns and trade publications.
Demand Generation & Sales Enablement
- Support the sales and R&D teams by developing initiatives to generate and qualify leads and drive in-bound inquiries from target customers via email campaigns, supplier promotions and surveys.
- Develop and manage tradeshow initiatives, create a budget, evaluate and identify new shows/events and report on ROI.
- Implement and optimize CRM and marketing automation tools to track lead flow and engagement.
Digital & Brand Marketing
- Create and oversee website content and optimize for both technical accuracy and lead generation.
- Develop and manage SEO, paid search, and digital marketing efforts to increase visibility and inbound inquiries.
- Manage LinkedIn and other relevant digital channels to build brand presence and share industry thought leadership.
- Monitor analytics and campaign performance to optimize reach and conversion.
Industry & Customer Insights
- Conduct competitor analysis and market research to inform positioning and product promotion.
- Stay updated on food industry trends, regulatory shifts, customer needs and consumer preferences to inform product positioning and content development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
- 5+ years of B2B marketing experience, preferably in food ingredients, food manufacturing, or a related industrial sector.
- Proven ability to build and manage marketing functions and strategy from scratch.
- Excellent communication, writing, and storytelling skills—especially when translating technical information into value propositions.
- Experience supporting/collaborating with sales and product development teams, presenting strategies, and building relationships.
- Analytical, problem-solving skills, creative and strategic thinking skills, project management skills
- Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Mailchimp, WordPress, or similar.

Salary Description
$85,000-$135,000
