Summary:

To connect Elmbrook Humane Society (EBHS) with the community through events and strategic collaborations.

Responsibilities:

Identify, establish, and develop mutually beneficial relationships with businesses and community organizations
Attend community events, meetings, and networking opportunities
Solicit sponsorships and in-kind donations
Plan, organize, and execute outreach and fundraising events ensuring goals align with organizational priorities
Manage event logistics including timelines, budgets, permits, vendors, sponsors, setup/teardown, equipment rentals, communications, and volunteer training
Coordinate marketing and promotional content for events and partnership initiatives
Track event and partnership data, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports to evaluate outcomes and identify areas of improvement
All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications & Skills

18 years of age or older
Valid Driver’s License
Professional experience in event planning, community outreach, or partnership development (preferably in a nonprofit setting) or relevant degree
Strong communication, time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Comfortable engaging with the public, partners, and vendors in a professional and enthusiastic manner
Computer literate and ability to operate office equipment
Able to work a flexible schedule, which will include some evenings and weekends
Passion for animal welfare and the mission of the organization
Capable of working in the below described environment

Work Environment

The work is performed in a dynamic animal shelter environment that can be fast paced, emotionally demanding, and physically active. Employees may be exposed to a variety of wild and domestic animals, including those that are dangerous, diseased, frightened, and injured. Noise levels can be high, and there may be exposure to allergens, cleaning agents, strong odors, and potentially harmful chemicals and drugs. The position may require standing for extended periods and light to moderate lifting. The role involves frequent interaction with the public and requires the ability to remain calm and compassionate in emotionally charged situations.

Compensation & Benefits:

This is a full-time position (30-40 hours/week) and requires a flexible schedule that will include some evenings and weekends. Pay range is $18-$20/hour, based on experience.
