Position Summary
As a Digital Conversion Specialist on the Member Experience & Retention team, you will apply your digital acquisition and funnel-building expertise to improve member retention, reduce churn, increase member engagement, and support winback efforts.
Rather than converting prospects into members, your focus will be on retaining current members and re-engaging former or at-risk ones. Through strategic funnel thinking, persuasive copywriting, and campaign development, you’ll build experiences that continually reinforce the value of membership and deepen the connection between our members and our mission.
You'll use your deep understanding of traffic strategy, email sequencing, offer structuring, landing page optimization, and digital persuasion to craft communications that keep members informed, inspired, and invested in staying. You won’t manage media or acquisition traffic directly, but your ability to think like a direct response marketer will be critical in creating retention-first funnels and lifecycle campaigns that drive results.
Responsibilities:
- Campaign Development & Strategy:
- Develop full-funnel retention campaigns to reinforce the value of membership, reduce churn, and increase overall member engagement.
- Use funnel strategy, email sequences, landing pages, and value-driven content to retain at-risk members and support winback efforts.
- Maintain a pulse on evolving political, social, and member sentiment dynamics to keep messaging timely, relevant, and persuasive.
- Achieve and Maintain Profitable Conversion Rates:
- Deliver measurable improvements in retention, re-engagement, and member satisfaction by consistently testing messaging, offers, and campaign structure.
- Drive Conversion Rate Growth:
- Identify drop-off points in the member journey and craft campaigns that proactively address objections, confusion, or disengagement.
- Produce a demonstrable upward trend in member retention and lifetime value across campaigns you own, and share learnings to inform broader strategy.
- Optimize Conversion Across All Interaction Points:
- Contribute ideas and execute strategies for onboarding, loyalty, upselling, and winback journeys that support the Member Marketing and Retention roadmap.
- Facilitate Effective Communication:
- Partner with internal teams to ensure alignment between member communications, product positioning, and support experiences.
Requirements:
- Education:
- A High School diploma or GED is required.
- Experience:
- You have 7+ years of direct response marketing experience with a proven track record of funnel development, campaign execution, and performance optimization.
- Previous experience in a B2C membership organization is a plus.
- Copywriting Skills:
- You’re a skilled copywriter who has transformed words into tens of millions of dollars in sales and now seeks to apply that talent to retention and loyalty.
- Proficient in Google Suite, project management software, and Email/SMS delivery platforms.
- Owner Mindset:
- You possess an entrepreneurial mindset, and a strong sense of accountability for results.
- Strong attention to detail and high bias for action. Able to meet deadlines effectively.
- Persuasion Mastery:
- You command a deep understanding of lifecycle marketing, email automation, segmentation, and behavioral triggers. Experience with advertising principles is a bonus.
- Instinct for Conversion:
- Ability to reverse-engineer what makes a campaign convert — and adjust tone, content, and sequence to maximize engagement and retention.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Great communication skills, written and oral, and the ability to build strong connections. Able to work well both independently and collaboratively.
- Creative thinker and problem solver with the flexibility to adapt quickly to frequent shifts in direction.

Compensation & Benefits:
Annual salary range $100,000 - $120,000 commensurate with experience. Role is also eligible for company bonus.
